Fare hike by Indian Airlines 11 April 2005 
Indian Airlines has announced a fare hike of 12% with effect from 15th April 2005. Jet Airways & Air Sahara are expected to follow suit by next week. This hike in domestic air fare will encourage tourists to travel to South-East Asia since the air fare to these destinations remain more attractive.

Continental Airlines announces new non-stop flights 08 April 2005 
Continental Airlines has announced the of launch daily non-stop flights between New Delhi and New York from Nov 1, 2005, subject to govt. approval. The new flights, the first scheduled non-stop service between India and the United States, will link the capital of India with New York. They will also provide one-stop connections to almost 150 other cities throughout North, Central and South America, the Caribbean and beyond via Continental's unique New York hub at Newark Liberty International Airport. The service will cut travel time between New Delhi and New York by at least two hours and will shorten existing journey times between New Delhi and most US mainland cities. 

Air fare to Kathmandu slashed 08 April 2005 
A holiday to Kathmandu has become cheaper as a result of major airlines slashing their airfare by half in the Kathmandu-Delhi sector. While the Royal Nepal Airlines reduced its fare by 33 percent to Rs 1,875, Nepalese private airline, Cosmic Air slashed its fare to Rs 1,500 on tickets purchased five days in advance. The entry of Air Sahara, Jet Airways and Cosmic Air in this sector has led to this drastic fall in air fare. 

Daily flights to Los Angeles 31 March 2005 
With the inaugural Air India flight taking off from Delhi for Los Angeles, AI now will fly daily to Los Angeles, three times from Delhi and four from Mumbai. The Delhi-LA flights will operate on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. While the Mumbai-LA flights operates on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. 

Round trip to Singapore to cost Rs 14,000 31 March 2005 
Jet Airways has announced an introductory offer of Rs 14,000 for a round trip to Singapore from Mumbai. Th e introductory offer will be valid for tickets booked upto April 30, 2005. Jet Airways will fly daily between Mumbai and Singapore. Although Jet’s fare is higher than Air Sahara (Rs 10,000 for a round trip), it is lower than the average fare of Rs 16,000 charged by other airlines. 

Apex fare to Andaman & Nicobar 31 March 2005 
Travelling to Port Blair by air has become cheaper an India Airlines has Apex fares to the destination which was affected by the tsunami tragedy. In case of three-week apex booking, the fare on the Chennai-Port Blair sector would be Rs 5,275. In case of one-week advance booking the fare will be Rs 6,560. 

Air-India Express flight to Abu Dhabi 24 March 2005 
Air-India Express, Air India’s soon to be launched budget airline, has announced plans to start operating from April end. Its maiden flight will take off from Thiruvananthapuram to Abu Dhabi on 29th April 2005. AI Express will operate 35 flights per week to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat and Salah in the Gulf region from Kochi, Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai and Delhi.
